The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke through tomorrow, Sunday, August 8. Smoke from the McFarland, Monument, Dixie, and River Complex fires is expected to continue to impact the Bay Area, particularly at higher elevation locations in the North Bay and East Bay. The smoke is aloft above 1,500 feet and is not expected to cause widespread unhealthy air quality across the Bay Area. 

The Air District provides meteorological data to help local governments understand existing air quality conditions and reduce impacts from proposed land use projects and plans.

The Air District’s Clean Air Filtration Program aims to provide access to high efficiency air filtration to help those who are most vulnerable to wildfire smoke and air pollution. Ang Lupon ng mga Direktor ay may 5 nakatayong komite na tumutulong sa Distrito ng Hangin sa misyon nito na pabutihin ang kalidad ng hangin.

Ang Distrito ng Pamamahala sa Kalidad ng Hangin ng Bay Area (BAAQMD) ay hindi nandidiskrimina batay sa lahi, pinagmulang bansa, kinikilalang pangkat etniko, ninuno, relihiyon, edad, kasarian, sekswal na oryentasyon, kinikilalang kasarian, pagpapahayag ng kasarian, kulay, genetic na impormasyon, medikal na kundisyon, o kapansanan sa pag-iisip o pangangatawan, o iba pang katangian o paniniwalang pinoprotektahan ng batas sa pangangasiwa ng mga programa o aktibidad nito, at hindi nanliligalig o naghihiganti ang BAAQMD sa sinumang indibidwal o anumang grupo para sa paggamit ng kanilang mga karapatan na makibahagi sa pagkilos na pinoprotektahan ng, o para sa pagtutol sa mga pagkilos na ipinagbabawal ng, 40 C.F.R. Bahagi 5 at 7 para mapigilan ang mga nasabing karapatan.
