Noong 1998, tinukoy ng Lupon ng mga Tagatulong sa Hangin ng California (California Air Resources Board, CARB) ang diesel na particulate na bagay (PM) bilang isang nakalalasong nagkokontamina sa hangin (TAC). Upang mabawasan ang pagkahantad ng publiko sa diesel PM, ang CARB ay nag-aproba sa maraming hakbang sa pangangasiwa na nakakaapekto sa malaking mayoriya ng mga makinang diesel na pinatatakbo sa California. Ang Distrito ng Pamamahala sa Kalidad ng Hangin ng Bay Area (Distrito ng Hangin) at ibang lokal na mga ahensiya sa kalidad ng hangin sa buong California ay inaatasan na magpatupad ng mga regulasyong ito na kilala rin bilang Mga Hakbang sa Pagkontrol ng Nakalalasong Dala ng Hangin (Airborne Toxic Control Measures, ATCM). Ang ATCM para sa Nakapirming Kompresyon na Pagniningas (Compression Ignition, CI) na mga Makina ay kabilang ang mga iniaatas para sa mga makinang pinatatakbo ng diesel na ginagamit sa mga pagpapatakbong pang-agrikultura.

The  Air District has opened the application period for the Carl Moyer grant program, to reduce ozone-forming and toxic air emissions from older heavy-polluting diesel equipment. Eligible diesel-powered equipment includes medium- and heavy-duty trucks, mobile agricultural and construction equipment, marine vessels, and locomotives.

The Air District will host a signing ceremony for mayors, city and county government officials, and leaders of industry and business from all over the world who commit to going diesel free by signing the Statement of Purpose to cut diesel use to zero by 2033.

On July 22, the Air District will be hosting the first of our Diesel Free by ’33 webinars: Do I have to go with diesel? Technology alternatives for vehicles, equipment, and backup generators. 

The Air District announced today that it will request that the agency’s independent Hearing Board issue an abatement order to shut down nine diesel generators at the Green Sage cannabis facilities in East Oakland. 

The Air District has awarded a loan guarantee to King Solarman, a provider of smart solar generators in California. Their products replace loud and aging diesel generators used for mobile light towers and surveillance stations.

The Air District is announcing that more than $90 million in incentive funding is now available through the Heavy-Duty Vehicle and Equipment Replacement Program to upgrade or replace eligible heavy-duty vehicles and equipment with cleaner and zero-emissions technology.

The Air District received a ruling from an Alameda County Superior Court judge yesterday finding that an abatement order to shut down diesel generators at the Green Sage cannabis facilities in Oakland is immediately enforceable by further order of the court.

The Air District’s independent Hearing Board has granted an abatement order request to shut down nine diesel generators at the Green Sage cannabis facilities in East Oakland, effective immediately.  This order applies to Green Sage Management, the property owners, and two state-licensed cannabis cultivators within the complex.
