Spare the Air Status

Charge! program funding can be used to install publicly accessible charging facilities for light-duty electric vehicles at workplaces, destinations, transit parking locations, along transportation corridors and at multi-unit dwelling facilities. The Air District will prioritize projects that install electric vehicle charging at multi-unit dwellings (specifically affordable and below market rate housing sites), and projects located in environmental justice communities.

A webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 10 AM., to provide an overview of this solicitation and answer questions from interested parties. For more information, please go online to www.baaqmd.gov/charge or contact Danny Fung at dfung@baaqmd.gov. Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2022, 5 PM Pacific Time.

The Charge! program has been funded primarily through the Air District’s Transportation Fund for Clean Air Regional Fund and Mobile Source Incentive Fund, which provide grants to improve air quality within the nine-county Bay Area by reducing emissions of pollutants from on-road vehicles, and may include additional funding sources as available.
