The Air District is announcing the availability of $750,000 through the James Cary Smith Community Grant Program for community groups, neighborhood associations, and nonprofits to participate in decisions that impact their environment and health. 

The Air District is announcing the launch of its 2022 James Cary Smith Community Grant Program, which is funding more than 30 community groups and nonprofit organizations to engage community members in decisions that impact their air quality and health.

Learn about the Air District's efforts with community leaders from Richmond, North Richmond, and San Pablo to develop a Community Air Monitoring Plan.

The Air District is offering grants of up to $2,500 to public K-12 school teachers as well as student and parent leaders to increase understanding of air quality and climate issues in school communities. 

The Air District is announcing the development of a pollution reduction plan that will help improve local air quality and health in Bayview Hunters Point/Southeast San Francisco.

The Air District will host a signing ceremony for mayors, city and county government officials, and leaders of industry and business from all over the world who commit to going diesel free by signing the Statement of Purpose to cut diesel use to zero by 2033. 

The Air District has organized a conference entitled, Climate Forward Bay Area: A Leadership Forum, that will be held on October 13 and 14 at the Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco. Technology, government, NGO and industry leaders are invited to register and participate in this forum by sharing ideas and approaches to reducing local greenhouse gases while maintaining the Bay Area's economic viability.
