The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert for smog through Monday, September 6, in addition to the air quality advisory for smoke that is also in place through Monday. Wildfire smoke combined with high inland temperatures and vehicle exhaust are expected to cause unhealthy smog, or ozone, accumulation in the Bay Area. Smoke from Northern California wildfires is expected to continue to impact the region creating hazy and smoky skies.

The Air District is issuing the first Spare the Air Alert of 2022 for smog on Friday, June 10. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. Very hot inland temperatures, along with motor vehicle exhaust, will create elevated concentrations of ozone, or smog.

The Air District is extending a Spare the Air Alert for smoke through tomorrow, Friday, October 25, for the entire the region. The Air District is closely monitoring smoke impacts from the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County and the northern portion of the Bay Area is currently experiencing smoke impacts. Additional smoke impacts are expected to spread across the Bay Area starting this evening.

The Air District is extending a Spare the Air Alert for smoke through tomorrow, Saturday, October 26, for the entire the region. The Air District is closely monitoring smoke impacts from the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County and the northern portion of the Bay Area is currently experiencing smoke impacts. Additional smoke impacts are expected to spread across the region starting this afternoon as smoke mixes down to the surface.

The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert for smog through Monday, September 5. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. Strong high pressure leading to a triple-digit heat wave, combined with light winds and vehicle exhaust, is expected to continue to cause unhealthy smog, or ozone, accumulation in the Bay Area. 

The Air District is issuing the first Spare the Air Alert of 2023 for smog for Thursday, April 27. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy tomorrow. Light winds and hot temperatures, along with motor vehicle exhaust, will create elevated concentrations of ozone, or smog.

The Air District is issuing a Spare the Air Alert for smog for Tuesday, September 3 through Wednesday, September 4. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. High inland temperatures and light winds, combined with motor vehicle exhaust, will create elevated concentrations of ozone, or smog.

Today, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District is issuing the first Spare the Air Alert for smog in 2020. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy tomorrow, Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. Light winds combined with triple-digit inland temperatures and vehicle exhaust are expected to cause unhealthy smog, or ozone, accumulation in the Bay Area.
