The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert for smog through Thursday, September 8. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert for smog through Wednesday, September 7. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. High-pressure over the region will continue to produce clear skies, light winds and very hot temperatures across the Bay Area. These conditions, combined with motor vehicle exhaust, will produce unhealthy ozone levels.

The Air District is upgrading the air quality advisory that was in place to Spare the Air Alerts due to heat and wildfire smoke today, Friday, August 27, and tomorrow, Saturday, August 28. The burning of wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors is prohibited.

The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert for wildfire smoke and ozone, or smog, for Tuesday, September 8, and for wildfire smoke on Wednesday. This will be the 22nd and 23rd consecutive Spare the Air Alert called.

The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert for smog through Monday, September 6, in addition to the air quality advisory for smoke that is also in place through Monday. Wildfire smoke combined with high inland temperatures and vehicle exhaust are expected to cause unhealthy smog, or ozone, accumulation in the Bay Area. Smoke from Northern California wildfires is expected to continue to impact the region creating hazy and smoky skies.

The Air District is issuing the first Spare the Air Alert of 2022 for smog on Friday, June 10. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. Very hot inland temperatures, along with motor vehicle exhaust, will create elevated concentrations of ozone, or smog.
