Learn about the Air District's development process for Regulation 6, Rule 8, which is part of a set of amendments and new rules under consideration that would reduce emissions of particulate matter from various commercial and industrial operations.

The Air District is hosting a virtual public workshop on February 4, 2021, from 6 - 8 PM., focusing on developing draft amendments to Regulation 6 Rule 5: Particulate Emissions from Refinery Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Units, in order to further reduce particulate matter emissions from petroleum refineries.

The Air District is proposing amendments and additions to Regulation 6, which governs particulate matter emissions from various commercial and industrial operations. A series of open houses/workshops are being held from January 30 through February 8 to discuss these amendments.

On July 15, 2020, the Air District’s Board of Directors will hold a public hearing to consider approval of Emissions Statement Certification for the 1997, 2008 and 2015 8-hour Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards.  The public comment period is now open and will close on Monday, July 6, 2020.

The Air District is hosting a series of open houses to discuss the agency’s four new and amended draft petroleum refinery emissions reduction rules. Open houses will be held in Martinez on Sept, 15, Benicia on Sept. 17, and Richmond on Sept. 28. The public comment period for the rules and amendments closes on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015.

On Monday, September 28, the Air District is hosting the last of a series of open houses to discuss the agency’s four new and amended draft petroleum refinery emissions reduction rules.
