The Air District will cancel the Board of Directors Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday, March 18, at 9:30 AM. The meeting is canceled due to the shelter in place order in San Francisco and other Bay Area counties to reduce the spread of the Novel Coronavirus, or Covid-19.

The Air District's Board of Directors is announcing the establishment of a community steering committee to help guide the development of the Community Emission Reduction Plan for the Richmond-North Richmond-San Pablo area.

The Air District, in partnership with the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project, held the first steering committee meeting today to develop a community action plan to improve air quality and public health in West Oakland. The City of Oakland, the Port of Oakland and stakeholders from the West Oakland community participated in this effort.

The Air District has announced the appointment of prominent environmental justice leader Arsenio Mataka as deputy executive officer for Equity & Community Programs at the agency's Community, Health and Environmental Justice Committee meeting.
