The Air District’s Finance Office has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association for its fiscal year 2025–2026 budget document. The Air District’s Director of Finance, Stephanie Osaze, also received a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Preparation, instrumental in achieving this award.
Both awards are two of the highest achievements presented to government entities whose budget documents meet nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines evaluate how well a budget functions. To earn this award, the Air District’s budget was rated “proficient” in of the following four categories and across 14 mandatory criteria.
- A policy document
- A financial plan
- An operations guide
- A communications device
While the award was granted on a qualified basis, the Air District is committed to addressing the identified areas for improvement such as capital program details, debt information, and performance measures in future budget submissions to maintain and strengthen its standing in the program.
