The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for the Novato area due to smoke from a fire at the Redwood Landfill. Smoke is drifting throughout the Novato area and will continue to impact the community until the fire is out and winds increase later this afternoon. 

The Air District will host a public learning session on Tuesday, October 22, virtually via Zoom, regarding adopted rules (“Building Appliance Rules”) impacting nitrogen oxide, or NOx, emissions from natural gas-fired water heating appliances. Members of the public are invited to attend, learn, and ask questions about these rules.

The Air District will host a public meeting session on Thursday, October 10, regarding a permit application that was filed by Radius Recycling, formerly Schnitzer Steel Products Company. Members of the public are invited to attend to learn about and comment on this permit application.  

The Air District is announcing the availability of $1.5 million through Cycle 2 of the James Cary Smith Community Grant Program for community groups, neighborhood associations, and nonprofits to participate in decisions that impact their environment and health.
