The Air District will host a public meeting session on Thursday, October 10, regarding a permit application that was filed by Radius Recycling, formerly Schnitzer Steel Products Company. Members of the public are invited to attend to learn about and comment on this permit application.

A delay in onshore winds has contributed to increased particulate pollution levels in the Bay Area today. If these conditions continue, there may be an exceedance of the federal health standard. A Winter Spare the Air Alert is NOT in effect today and wood burning is not illegal, but it is strongly discouraged.

The Air District is announcing that its independent Hearing Board has ordered Martin Marietta to get a permit for the company’s sand distribution plant located at Pier 92 in Bayview Hunters Point, San Francisco.
