The Bay Area Air Quality Management District supports and sponsors public events, conferences, and community programs that align with our central mission - to improve air quality to protect public health, reduce historical and current environmental inequities, and mitigate climate change and its impacts.

The Air District is convening a community workgroup to inform development and implementation of our new Particle Fallout Sampling Program for refinery communities. We are looking for people who live or work near the Chevron, Marathon, MRC, Phillips 66, and Valero refineries, or who represent organizations and environmental groups that serve these communities. 

The Air District, in partnership with the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project, held the first steering committee meeting today to develop a community action plan to improve air quality and public health in West Oakland. The City of Oakland, the Port of Oakland and stakeholders from the West Oakland community participated in this effort.
