Refinery flare at Chevron in Richmond. The Air District is aware of the flaring and has inspectors on site investigating. Inspectors are responding to public complaints, documenting any violations of air quality regulations and assisting first responders as needed. Residents should follow instructions from local health officials. The Air District is monitoring this closely. Check back for updates.
Amendments to Regulation 2, Rule 1: Permits - General Requirements were adopted by the Air District's Board of Directors at a public hearing on December 6, 2017:
The Air District developed revisions to its permitting programs through amendments to Regulation 2, Rule 1: Permits - General Requirements. The amendments to this rule were developed and adopted along with other changes to the permits regulation. Amendments to Rule 2-1, along with amendments to Rule 2-2, Rule 2-4, and Rule 2-6, made significant changes to the New Source Review pre-construction permit program and the Title V Major Facility Review operating permit program.
