The Air District is developing amendments to Regulation 8: Organic Compounds, Rule 8: Wastewater Collection and Separation Systems (Rule 8-8) to further address emissions from wastewater treatment systems at refineries. The Air District's AB 617 Expedited Best Available Retrofit Control Technology (BARCT) Implementation Schedule identified the need to further evaluate and consider additional efforts to address emissions of organic compounds from these sources. The Air District has released draft amendments to Rule 8-8, along with a Preliminary Staff Report, for public review and comment:
