Air Quality Complaint Guidelines

Learn about the Air District's Complaint Guidelines and how we investigate air pollution concerns to ensure compliance with air quality rules and regulations. 

The Air District is updating the Air Quality Complaint Guidelines and recently completed a series of five public workshops in San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Oakland, San Jose, and Martinez to solicit public input on the air quality complaint investigation process. The public comment period closed on February 12, 2020, and a summary of those comments is available online.

Air District staff are currently reviewing all of the comments and will incorporate suggestions and changes where feasible. Please check back with us in the summer when the updated Air Quality Complaint Guidelines will be posted on this web page.
