Peter Y. Chiu, M.D., P.E.
Dr. Chiu has been a BAAQMD Hearing Board member since 2013. He is an Emeritus Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He was an Occupational Medicine Department and Emergency Department physician at Kaiser Milpitas/Santa Clara from 1990 to 2011 and a practicing family physician in San Jose from 1986 to1990. He served as a member of the US Presidential/Congressional Risk Assessment and Risk Management Commission mandated by the 1990 Federal Clean Air Act Amendments from 1994 to 1997. He was a principal environmental engineer for the Association of Bay Area Governments from 1976 to 1979 and an associate water quality management engineer at the Bay Area Sewage Services Agency from 1974 to 1976. He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Stanford University, Doctor of Public Health degree in Environmental Health and a Master of Public Health degree in Occupational Health from the University of California, Berkeley.
