The Air District is extending the air quality advisory for potential smoke in parts of the Bay Area through Sunday, October 21.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is issuing an air quality advisory for Sunday, September 20, and Monday, September 21, due to possible smoke impacts from wildfires.

The Air District Board today confirmed the appointment of Dr. Philip Fine, an internationally recognized expert in air quality science and policy, as the new executive officer, effective February 21.

The Air District has made the draft 2017 Clean Air Plan, Spare the Air, Cool the Climate, available online, on Open Air Forum for comment through March 9.

Due to heavy smoke blowing into the Bay Area from the Camp Fire in Butte County, the Air District is issuing a Winter Spare the Air Alert starting tonight, Thursday, November 8, through Friday, November 9.

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory through Thursday, August 9, in the Bay Area. The Bay Area may experience smoke impacts from the Mendocino Complex Fire and other wildfires.

The Air District is issuing a Spare the Air Alert due to wildfire smoke for Wednesday, September 20 through Thursday, September 21, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors.

The Air District is issuing the second Spare the Air Alert of 2022 for smog for Tuesday, June 21. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. Very hot inland temperatures, along with motor vehicle exhaust, will create elevated concentrations of ozone, or smog.

The Area Air District is issuing the season’s first and second Winter Spare the Air Alerts for today, Saturday, November 9, and Sunday, November 10, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors.
