The Air District has organized a conference entitled, Climate Forward Bay Area: A Leadership Forum, that will be held on October 13 and 14 at the Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco. Technology, government, NGO and industry leaders are invited to register and participate in this forum by sharing ideas and approaches to reducing local greenhouse gases while maintaining the Bay Area's economic viability.

Jack Broadbent, executive officer of the Air District, has offered a statement about the Biden administration’s climate policies.

The Air District is opening a search for innovative and disruptive technologies that can help combat climate change and improve air quality in the Bay Area. 

The Air District's Board of Directors voted today to support the Paris climate agreement and move forward with significant climate efforts despite the Trump administration signaling the United States’ withdrawal from the landmark international climate accord. 

The Air District's Board of Directors has approved $4.5 million to fund projects at 15 regional public agencies to reduce greenhouse gases from existing buildings, and/or to develop innovative strategies for long-term reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The Air District is offering grants of up to $2,500 to public K-12 school teachers as well as student and parent leaders to increase understanding of air quality and climate issues in school communities.

The Air District showcased the Bay Area’s leadership in clean air, climate innovation, and equity at the United Nations Climate Change Conference or COP30, held in Belém, Brazil from November 10 through November 21. During a virtual media availability on November 13, Air District leadership reflected on the importance of local and regional action to drive global climate progress.

The Air District, in collaboration with the UC Berkeley Cool Climate Network, has developed a consumption-based greenhouse gas inventory for the Bay Area to tell a more complete story of how the region contributes to global climate change.

The Air District's Board of Directors adopted a bold air quality and climate plan, the 2017 Clean Air Plan, entitled Spare the Air - Cool the Climate (YouTube streaming video), which addresses air quality improvement and greenhouse gas reduction for the nine-county Bay Area region.
