The Air District is releasing the annual updates to the Flare Minimization Plans, or FMPs, for public review and comment. The five Bay Area refineries prepare these plans subject to the requirements of Regulation 12, Rule 12: Flares at Refineries.

The Air District has posted the Notice of Preparation and Initial Study for the draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Report on the 2016 Clean Air Plan/Regional Climate Protection Strategy.

Jack Broadbent, executive officer of the Air District, has issued a statement in support of the State of California’s decision to sue the Trump Administration over their plans to roll back auto emissions standards.

In the wake of record-breaking wildfires and hurricanes that have decimated the U.S., the Trump administration has announced a directive today to order the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to rewrite the Clean Power Plan and jeopardize hard-fought climate gains. The effects of climate change are being realized worldwide as global temperatures rise and catastrophic weather patterns escalate.

The Air District and the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project have released their joint West Oakland Community Action Plan, Owning Our Air, for public comment.

The Air District and the steering committee for the Richmond–San Pablo Community Air Monitoring Plan will host the Path to Clean Air Community Summit on Saturday, November 2, from 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium located at 403 Civic Center Plaza in Richmond.

The Air District is hosting a community summit on Saturday, February 16, from 10 AM–1:30 PM, at the City of Richmond Recreation Complex located at 3230 Macdonald Avenue in Richmond, to develop an air monitoring plan for the surrounding community.
