The Air District has launched a new online civic engagement tool, Open Air Forum, which offers the public a new opportunity to interact with the Air District and provide feedback on specific Air District topics.

The Air District's Board of Directors adopted a bold air quality and climate plan, the 2017 Clean Air Plan, entitled Spare the Air - Cool the Climate (YouTube streaming video), which addresses air quality improvement and greenhouse gas reduction for the nine-county Bay Area region.

The Air District announced today that Air Liquide Large Industries, US LP, has agreed to pay $159,000 to settle violations that occurred at its hydrogen plant at the San Francisco Oil Refinery in Rodeo.

The Air District has lifted the Spare the Air Alert that was in place through Tuesday and is instead issuing an air quality advisory through Tuesday, October 13, due to possible localized smoke impacts near the Glass Fire.

Localized air quality impacts may occur as Marathon Refinery in Martinez idles operations.

Smoke from wildfires throughout the Bay Area is impacting air quality.  

The Clean Air Center Program provides funding for county agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area to create a network of clean air centers to mitigate the adverse public health impacts due to wildfires and other smoke events.
