The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke from the Sites Fires, located in western Colusa County, through Wednesday, June 19. 

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke from the Sites Fire, located in western Colusa County, through Thursday, June 20. 

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke in eastern Contra Costa County through Thursday, July 14. Smoke from the Marsh Fire is expected to continue to impact the eastern Contra Costa cities of Pittsburg, Antioch, Oakley and Brentwood. Onshore winds during the daytime are expected to disperse smoke, but as winds die down overnight localized pollution levels may rise between 10 PM and 9 AM. Pollutant levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect and air quality is expected to be in the moderate range overall.

Smoke from the Marsh Fire is expected to continue to impact the eastern Contra Costa cities of Pittsburg, Antioch, Oakley and Brentwood. Onshore winds during the daytime are expected to disperse smoke, but as winds die down overnight localized pollution levels may rise during the overnight and early morning hours. Pollutant levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect and air quality is expected to be in the moderate range overall.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke for tomorrow, Monday, July 25. Smoke from the Oak Fire in Mariposa County is forecast to be transported into the Bay Area on Monday, however, the smoke is expected to remain aloft. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible across the Bay Area and the smell of smoke is possible at higher elevations. Pollutant levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect.

Smoke from the Marsh Fire is expected to impact the eastern Contra Costa cities of Pittsburgh, Antioch, Oakley and Brentwood. Onshore winds during the daytime are expected to disperse smoke, but as winds die down overnight localized pollution levels may rise between 10 PM and 9 AM. The Air District's Board of Directors approved allocating $4 million in Community Air Protection Incentives funding to support home and school air filtration programs in Bay Area communities at their June 4 meeting. As part of this initiative, the Air District Board authorized up to $1.3 million of upgrades in public schools in Richmond, North Richmond, San Pablo, and Tara Hills. An additional $1.7 million will be used to expand air filtration upgrades in schools in Bayview-Hunters Point in San Francisco, and $1 million will be allocated to the Air District’s Home Air Filtration program.

Winds are forecast to transport smoke from the Oak Fire in Mariposa County into the Bay Area through Wednesday; however, the smoke is expected to remain aloft. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible across the Bay Area and the smell of smoke is possible at higher elevations. Air quality is forecast to be in the good to moderate range on the air quality index and pollutant levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. Winds are continuing to transport smoke from the Oak Fire in Mariposa County into the Bay Area; however, smoke is expected to remain aloft. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible across the Bay Area and the smell of smoke is possible at higher elevations. Air quality is forecast to be in the good to moderate range on the air quality index and pollutant levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect.

The Air District is extending the air quality advisory through Tuesday due to smoke from the Mineral Fire in Fresno County and the Hog Fire in Lassen County. Smoke will likely remain aloft resulting in smoky and hazy skies, but PM2.5 is not expected to exceed the national 24-hour standard.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke for Sunday, June 16, due to smoke from the Point Fire in northern Sonoma County.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory due to smoke from the Crystal Fire in Napa County for today, Wednesday, June 5. Localized smoke impacts are possible near Angwin and may impact the Napa Valley from St. Helena to Calistoga. We will be closely monitoring air quality for smoke impacts from this incident.

The Air District is closely monitoring flaring at the Chevron Refinery in Richmond and has issued an air quality advisory as localized smoke impacts are possible near and downwind of the facility, including the Contra Costa County cities of Richmond, San Pablo, Pinole, and Hercules, as well as Solano County. This is based on current meteorological conditions which can change depending on the duration of the flaring. Residents should follow instructions from local health officials.

The Air District is extending the air quality advisory through Monday due to smoke from the Mineral Fire in Fresno County in addition to other new fires in the region.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke for Tuesday, June 18, due to smoke from the Point Fire in northern Sonoma County. A Spare the Air alert remains in effect for today, Monday, June 17.

The Air District invites written comments on new provisions related to hydrogen sulfide monitoring and quality assurance procedures in revised draft fenceline air monitoring plans for the five Bay Area refineries. Comments must be received by 5 PM Pacific Time on April 20, 2023.
