The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke through tomorrow, Sunday, August 8. Smoke from the McFarland, Monument, Dixie, and River Complex fires is expected to continue to impact the Bay Area, particularly at higher elevation locations in the North Bay and East Bay. The smoke is aloft above 1,500 feet and is not expected to cause widespread unhealthy air quality across the Bay Area. 

The Air District’s Clean Air Filtration Program aims to provide access to high efficiency air filtration to help those who are most vulnerable to wildfire smoke and air pollution. The Air District produces a variety of documents and publications in the course of its efforts to improve air quality.

Air quality in the Bay Area continues to be very unhealthy, especially in the fire-impacted counties of Napa, Sonoma and Solano. The smoke plume from the fires has now moved to the South Bay and air quality will be unpredictable and impact the entire Bay Area through the weekend.

The Bay Area Air District supports and sponsors public events, conferences, and community programs that align with our central mission - to improve air quality to protect public health, reduce historical and current environmental inequities, and mitigate climate change and its impacts.

The Air District is seeking to adopt regulatory amendments to Regulation 6, Rule 3 to further reduce fine particulate emissions from wood burning. Written comments on the proposed rule amendments must be received by 9:00 am on Monday, October 19, 2015. A public hearing to adopt these proposed amendments is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2015.

Bahagi 5 at 7 para mapigilan ang mga nasabing karapatan.
