The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke through tomorrow, Friday, August 13. Northerly winds will continue to bring smoke from the Northern California and Southern Oregon wildfires into the Bay Area. Smoke is expected to be mostly aloft with intermittent periods of smoke mixing to the surface, particularly at higher elevation locations in the North and East Bay regions.  Air quality is not expected to exceed the federal health standard and therefore, no Spare the Air Alert is in effect.

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke through Monday, August 16. Smoke from Northern California and Southern Oregon wildfires continues to impact the Bay Area. Smoke is expected to be mostly aloft with intermittent periods of smoke mixing to the surface, particularly at higher altitude locations in the North and East Bay mountains and coastal regions down towards the Santa Cruz Mountains. Air quality is not expected to exceed the federal health standard and therefore, no Spare the Air Alert is in effect. 

The Air District’s Clean Air Filtration Program aims to provide access to high efficiency air filtration to help those who are most vulnerable to wildfire smoke and air pollution. The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for the Bay Area due to wildfire smoke from fires in northern Sacramento Valley through Monday, July 14. Smoke from the Butler and Green wildfires is still moving down the Sacramento Valley and is expected to continue to impact air quality in portions of the Bay Area on Sunday and Monday. Areas that are expected to be most impacted will be parts of the North Bay and East Bay and higher elevation locations. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map.  Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible and air quality may become unhealthy at times on Sunday and Monday. 

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory due to wildfire smoke from Canada and Alaska in the Bay Area for Sunday, June 22. Smoke from various wildfires in western Canada and in Alaska is expected to impact air quality in parts of the Bay Area on Sunday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible and air quality may become unhealthy on Sunday.

Smoke from various wildfires in western Canada and in Alaska is expected to continue to impact air quality in the Bay Area on Monday.
