The Air District is extending a Spare the Air Alert for wildfire smoke through Sunday, August 30, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors. Wildfire smoke from the numerous fires inside and outside of the Bay Area will continue to cause elevated levels of smoke pollution over the weekend in localized portions of the North Bay and Santa Clara County near the fires.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke for Tuesday, June 18, due to smoke from the Point Fire in northern Sonoma County. A Spare the Air alert remains in effect for today, Monday, June 17.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke for today, Tuesday, May 31, and tomorrow, Wednesday, June 1. Smoke from the Old Fire in Napa County is expected to impact the Napa Valley. Isolated pockets of elevated air pollution levels are possible near the fire; however, pollution levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect and air quality is not expected to be unhealthy. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible and the smell of smoke may be present in the North Bay through Wednesday. 

The Air District is issuing the twentieth Spare the Air Alert for smoke today, Thursday, October 24, for the entire the region. The Air District is closely monitoring smoke impacts from the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County and the northern portion of the Bay Area is experiencing smoke impacts. Additional impacts may spread across the Bay Area this evening and into tomorrow. Residents should follow evacuation orders and instructions from local health officials. 

The Air District is extending a Spare the Air Alert for smoke through tomorrow, Friday, October 25, for the entire the region. The Air District is closely monitoring smoke impacts from the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County and the northern portion of the Bay Area is currently experiencing smoke impacts. Additional smoke impacts are expected to spread across the Bay Area starting this evening.

A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible and the smell of smoke may be present in the Napa Valley through Thursday.

Smoke from the Pickett Fire in Napa County is expected to impact Sonoma, Napa and Solano counties through Saturday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, and the smell of smoke is possible.

Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, and the smell of smoke is possible.

The Air District is closely monitoring smoke impacts from the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County and the northern portion of the Bay Area is currently experiencing smoke impacts. Additional smoke impacts are expected to spread across the region starting this afternoon as smoke mixes down to the surface.

Smoke from the Pickett Fire in Napa County is expected to impact Sonoma, Napa, and Solano counties on Thursday and Friday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The Air District is soliciting applications for two seats on its Community Advisory Council (CAC). There are two vacant seats, one for a member who resides or works in Alameda County and one for a representative of Bay Area youth.

The Air District has expanded the Clean Cars for All program to the entire nine-county Bay Area within the Air District’s jurisdiction.

The Bay Area Air District today announced $4,822,770 in funding to SAFETRANS Transportation Inc. to deploy electric school buses serving special education students across Santa Clara County. The grant will support the purchase of 14 zero-emission buses and 11 charging stations, helping to electrify transportation services for some of the region's most vulnerable students.

The Air District has reached a settlement with Tesoro Refining & Marketing Company that will significantly enhance air monitoring data transparency, providing more information about air pollutants around its refinery in unincorporated Contra Costa County, near Martinez. The agreement requires Tesoro to take new data access and community engagement actions beyond those required by regulation or permit.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for smoke for the entire Bay Area region on Sunday, October 27 through Monday, October 28.

The Air District's Board of Directors approved funding today for 92 new plug-in electric vehicle charging stations throughout the nine-county region. The project will provide grants for the installation of new, publicly available EV charging stations along major transportation corridors, at workplaces, and at key locations.

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for smoke for the Bay Area through tomorrow, Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Northerly winds near the Ranch Fire in Tehama County south of Redding will allow some smoke to move toward the Bay Area. The smoke is expected to continue to cause hazy skies and potentially elevated hourly air quality readings for fine particulates today and tomorrow, but air quality is not expected to exceed the federal health standard.
