The Air District is extending the air quality advisory for wildfire smoke through Saturday, July 20. Smoke from fires in Northern and Southern California is expected to impact the Bay Area through Saturday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. 

Air quality in the Bay Area is forecast to be in the good range.  Winds are currently blowing smoke from the Wragg fire burning near Lake Berryessa to the north and east of our region. Smoky conditions have been observed in Yolo County and parts of the Sacramento region.

It has been reported that companies throughout the Bay Area have received letters dated January 1, 2025, February 1, 2025, and February 14, 2025, with misinformation about the Bay Area Commuter Benefits Program. These letters were not sent by the Bay Area Air District or the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and contain misinformation. Please disregard these letters if you received them. If your company is registered in the Commuter Benefits Program, you can check the Commuter Benefits Program website to verify your company's registration in the system.

Smoke from the Butler and Green wildfires is moving down the Sacramento Valley and is expected to continue to impact air quality in portions of the Bay Area on Saturday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory due to wildfire smoke from the Moon Complex fire in Oregon for tonight, September 27, and tomorrow, September 28. Smoke from the Moon Complex in southwestern Oregon has been drifting southward offshore over the past few days and has mixed with the marine layer that is moving onshore over the Bay Area this Saturday evening and Sunday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for the Bay Area due to wildfire smoke from fires in northern Sacramento Valley for today, Thursday, July 10, and Friday, July 11. Smoke from the Butler and Green wildfires has been moving down the Sacramento Valley and is expected to impact air quality in the eastern portion of the Bay Area down to Santa Clara Valley on Thursday and Friday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible and air quality may become unhealthy at times on Thursday and Friday.   

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for the Bay Area due to wildfire smoke from fires in northern Sacramento Valley through Monday, July 14. Smoke from the Butler and Green wildfires is still moving down the Sacramento Valley and is expected to continue to impact air quality in portions of the Bay Area on Sunday and Monday. Areas that are expected to be most impacted will be parts of the North Bay and East Bay and higher elevation locations. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict.
